Banned for no justified reason

On the Web Games forum I was banned for no justified reason.

In the thread discussing the demise of the Cybernations group BAPS I was saying how I ad to gloat about their demise as I told them they would fail.I said how if they joined the Fianna,a new Irish CN group which was being announced in the section before BAPS until one of the mods AMP I belive deleted the thread and made the BAPS sign in.

I was insulted yet never directly insulted anyone,They were left go,yet I was banned,I believe either Amp has a personel grudge as of the above or else is annoyed because I said something about his alliance.If you read the thread it's self"Unlucky BAPS" you should see it there.He claims I was trolling but I was not,even in my last post before Amps posted I talked aobut us working together and setting asside diffrences so the argument could be ended.

Also I was not contacted about being Banned,I had to logout to see that I had been.

The first thing you should do is PM the mod concerned and allow a couple of days for a reply. If after that time you have not got a reply or are still unhappy with the mods decision you could take the matter up here but its bad form going on a rant in the first place.

From your comments above (a bit contradictory though) it would seem that you have issues with the mod and have questioned his "alliance" which is not really on.

And to say that you "never directly insulted anyone" clearly shows that you did indeed insult someone - just that you didnt do it directly.

Advice: Pm Amp and let this thread go.

Be sure to mention in the pm how the forum in question has little traffic and he should consider himself lucky that you posted there in the first place. If I know Amp, that will work for yea.

lol I never ment to insult anyone either but being happy about the downfall of the cn group may come across as insulting.

And then I replied. And while I made some points I still believe that the heart of the message I was trying to send Seloth was that he should go and fuck himself, hard, preferably with something rusty.

most of the other mods are fair enough,but this dude seems to be a different kettle of fish.Most other mods have a sense of fairness but this guy,in my opinion, abuses his "power" and seems the admins tolerate it.

Just ban you,no warning, you are wasting your time pming or anything like that.In my experience you won't get a reply.
Long as there are mods like that, and they are tolerated,hey, not much you can do.

Ah FlutterinBantam, voice of the common user, fighter against the oppression. I actually did reply, however Seloth was too impatient to wait a whole half an hour for it.

And he was quite clearly banned for trolling. By this I mean he was deliberately trying to incite a flamewar, which is not tolerated on Webgames and most other forums.

And given that I put a **** load of work into creating BAPS, and other boards.ie members put in a lot more making it an alliance that could have reached sanction status had we not been betrayed, I find your automatic suggestion of corruption ****ing ridiculous in the extreme.

But by all means continue your Don Quixote like crusade, someday you might actually discover some real corruption on boards!

I can only recount my own experiences here.

I am not stupid enough not to know the facts in my case.

I have every respect for the mostly thankless jobs that the mods do, and fully

realise the importance of moderation on a site like this.

What pisses off Don Quixotes like me is cavaleir attitudes of people who ban

without warning and then do not reply to pm's

Also people who treat some users as an "inner coterie" ,above the law

applicable to other "ordinary users.

That attitude can only fester anger and annoyance in those Fora,whereas the

Mod who warns,and then stands up and is counted when issuing a ban,would

always have my full support.

Well, sometimes, if I feel that a user has made a genuine mistake I will let them off with a warning. However, if I feel a user is an idiot who has nothing to add to a forum apart from disruption and idiocy then I feel it's natural justice to treat them in kind.

As far as I'd be concerned the charter is your warning.

Then you have to take it on a case by case basis. Not everyone deserves an additional warning. In this case the OP was in the wrong. Ban was deserved.

I agree that the OP was deserving of a ban because of trolling mainly, not so much insulting or offensive language.

Secondly, Amp, I do feel that your ban attitute can be slightly excessive sometimes.

When I first joined Boards, when I had 44posts, most of them posts on TCN, you banned me. I was being stupid, yes, I know, i was being a total dumbass. But you never pm'd me to tell me why or how I got banned, and it's only looking back on it now that I realise what i was doing. I pm'd you to ask you why, and I offered an apology, but to which i was never granted a reply. I opened a thread in Feedback, and I never got a reply from amp. I must admit, that I did feel insulted when that happened. I then went on to create another account NevF61, to which was banned immediatley.

I'm just telling my side of the story, and tbh, I'm not too bothered about it, and therefore, I can't be arsed opening a new thread over such a petty issue. I also understand that if you are completely laid back, you are opening yourself to even more problems, but I feel there is a happy medium in there somewhere that has not being reached by many of the mods around here. Yet, i do fully respect that some mods have to neglect a social life, to have to come on here every night to sift through endless hours of crap.

I also feel that warnings for minor things are good to have, but when it comes to direct things like people trolling or spamming the Boards that they will be treated by a permanent ban. I think temporary bans are more efective than warnings to be honest. (eg. for maybe a week or a month). Just telling you my side of the story. Thats all.

No, you were banned for trolling. You admit it yourself. You said that you wished to gloat about the demise of BAPS. You admit that you enjoy it.

BAPS is the Boards Alliance of Protectorate States. I founded it. In the same way that GOONS was the official alliance of something awful, BAPS was the official alliance of boards.ie. It still is.

Hell I even remember, discussing a merger between the Fianna and BAPS, but the members of BAPS didn't want it. They thought they could do a better job on their own. And by god they were right, because I can't even find Fianna on Planet Bob at all.

So please, get over yourself. I didn't kill your thread. I merely stopped you from trolling the recruitment thread for BAPS.

What was your purpose in posting to Webgames? Was it to gloat like you said you wanted to? Did you have anything constructive to post? No, you merely wished to piss people off. Grow the **** up.
