camping in Irish national parks

    Planning on doing some walking in glenveagh and connemara at some point,hoping to do overnighters so was wondering is there ny camping restrictions in the parks or can you just camp anywhere? doesnt really say anything about it on the websites.

    Out of sight, out of mind apllies, I'd imagine. You can probably camp anywhere, as long as you're discrete, and don't make a mess. I reckon most rangers and the like don't mind overnighters, as long as they're not scumbags wrecking the place.

    It would depend on the ranger, the official name is no.

    The further you are from the road / trail you won't be found.

    ask a question and you might get an unwanted answer.. camping is restricted in all national parks.. and must be carried out under permit.. i know thats a load of sh1t but thats how it is... now a days you need a licence to take a leak..... part of the main reason is due to hunting season on deer this ends at the end of feb. so any time after this is ok in my book..
