Would not mind sticking a different stock, handguard, pistol grip on the
M4 thats on the way to me. Anything to make it look a little less like an M4.
As Hanguards go the Magpul one looks ok.

I'd like something furniture wise in OD (Without having to spray paint it)
to add a bit of colour to my rather bland black collection of gear.

How come its always wet in the place where Masada takes his photos?
Surely Irish weather cannot be that bad? or are ya hosing down the
area with water before you take the shots for dramatic effect?

LOL, believe it or not, ive never put water down for any of the photo's, i just happen to be so unlucky that it always rains here., :D

ASG are a wholesaler, not a direct vendor, so you or I couldn't get hold of one directly from them. That means finding a shop that can. Also, you'll see it marked as a "bookable item", which means the chain extends even further. You put in a request with your retailer, who puts in a request with ASG, who puts in a request with their CA factory supplier, who puts in a request with the production team. After all that, and lets assume you might be lucky and get as little as a weeks delay between each step of the chain going forward, you'll be looking at an extra 2-4 weeks before it'll make it to ASG's warehouse, and a further 2-4 weeks before the retailer gets it. You'd be looking at a minimum 8-12 week lead time on it.
This is the big problem with a lot of kit, not just parts, but aeg's and gbb's too, that people don't realise. Geographically, we couldn't be in a worse position for airsoft deliveries so everything gets delayed be silly amounts of time for even the smallest reason (and there are plenty of them). Plus suppliers are supplied by suppliers who are supplied by factories. Each of which will ship as a priority to the biggest market, so we get left behind again. I try to explain this to people every day that I'm in the shop and they complain we have limited stock. We try, but there's a lot standing in the way of a good, regular and dependable chain of delivery.

Regardless, it's been a while since I looked for them and talking about this has reminded me to look again. Ehobby have restocked their King Arms ones, so I reckon it might be time to start looking at making this C7 again.

you wont get stock levels from the ASG site, they only deal with retailers so this info isnt available. they are located in denmark so if a retailer orders from them, presuming it doesnt stay too long in customs the order shouldnt take more than 3-4 days after payment. Ask tony about it dex, he can probably get all the bits ya want. :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Ah no need, I have them ordered now.
The stock levels on their site are simply a yes, no or ask us sort of arrangement. I've gandered at the site before and found the same kind of thing. "Bookable" seems to refer to the odd parts they don't usually get in, ie pre-order. I'm actually not in any real rush for it, but since they were there on ehobby when I checked, I went ahead and nabbed them.

That Stg44 looks pretty damn nifty now. Nothing like a WW2 replica that actually looks like it's seen WW2 rather than the inside of a Storm case and no more. I was thinking of getting one and doing the same, probably restain the wood too.
Where'd you get the sling? Is it a "proper" Stg44 sling or is it just coincidence that it looks like it belongs there?

    Good work fellah.

    Thanks Dex,

Its a replica Mp44/Mp40/K98 sling, very handy as I can switch it from my 98 to my 44 with relative ease

As there is some M4 GBB pimping going on....
    ...
    .

I'm after buying the RIS version of the AGM M4 GBB not sure if the handguards are the same length
    as the M4A1 version.

    Does anyone know if this:
    http://www.ebairsoft.com/magpul-handguard-p-2054.html
Will fit the RIS version ?

Looking at M4 GBB Bits n Bobs at the moment and dont
know whats cross-compatible between the different brands.

Mine arrived this morning, Its got a nice finish and the quality is not bad
    for something thats AGM/ACM.

When I pull back the cocking without a mag inserted lever sometimes
it sticks back, dunno why yet. It also stuck back a few times during fireing
so had to fiddle with the cocking handle a bit to fix.

The Mag would not fill for me at all and had a crack
that will need superglueing on the plastic part. Fiddled around with the mag and
    it eventually filled.

Keeps spitting out 2-3bbs at a time then none, then 2 bbs then
    none,

Noticed too you cannot turn the fire selector switch to safe unless you have the gun cocked.

I also have the RIS version, are you sure you're not touching the bolt catch when you cock it? If you do that it'll lock the bolt back as if the mag was empty, also the tiny little switch on the mag can be set to dry fire and to lock back when empty, although I've found that sometimes it does just seem to do it's own thing. Not had any issues with double feeding yet.

I've got a RA-Tech magazine on the way for mine, so I'll be interested to see if a better magazine makes a difference. THe gun itself is amazing, and I'm very happy with it, the AGM mags do seem to be a little finicky though. RA-tech mags are about $50 a pop, although on the plus side they're 300 grams lighter than the AGM ones, which must be how my wallet feels.

not going into safe unless it's cocked is a feature I believe, think the real ones do that too.

that front end will hit no probs bullets, its the same as the tan and black ones i had on mine.

the safety thing too, is supposed to do that, like the real deal.

what plastic part had a crack? there shouldnt be any plstic parts involved in filling the gas, theres a little lever than locks the valve in t4e open position, is this what your referring to?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

Got mine today aswell, the RIS version. Glad I took the day off. Love it so far could not be happier with it. The only thing with mine was that the D ring was not tightened all the way but it's sorted now. Also I noticed that the RIS version has a mock gas tube going to the front sight gas block, I didn't see this on the standard version, its a nice little touch

Put about 200 bbs through it now along with the Army MEU that arrived yesterday. I going to need alot more mags, gas and bbs.

Cool, did not know about the safety doing that on RS.
I'll double check that that I'm not accidentally brushing off andything while cocking it
with regards to the bolt staying back.

The Front of the magazine is plastic, there was a crack towards the top just
before the mag lip that was sticking out, I pushed it back in so a bit of glue will
    seal it.

Great ol bit of kit. Cant wait to get home and fiddle with it, did not get a propper
chance earlier as was busy in work.

It "feels" so great to actually have a heavy trigger pull!

even cocking it on it's side so you can see the bolt go back will cause the bolt to lock, this is the same on the real one, it's so you can look in and check if a round is chambered. I've found though that the best way to get the mag to lock in place is to cock it on it's side so the bolt is held open and then put the mag in and hit the bolt release.
