    Like the title says

I recently complained to both o2 and comreg about lousy broadband and very poor speeds during peak times.

The first thing they both said was "well it must be a problem at your end cos no on else is complaining".

Even comreg are under the impression that broadband in Ireland is fine cos no one is complaining.

If you have an issue with your broadband, it is so important that you complain.

If you read through this forum its fairly obvious that alot of people (from here at least) have complained.

Was thread here 2 weeks ago bout Comreg, they made a comment on morning Ireland that most people in Ireland are happy with broadband, but yet when people like myself complained about slow speeds we were told "Comreg don't regulate broadband". What we need is a proper regulator who DO regulate.

Its only by telling you this that they can delete the complaint and hope that you do not have the cheek to question that .

Its only by deleting all the complaints that they can claim not to have any complaints because they deleted them all.

Comreg do not give ticket numbers for complaints because that would indicate the real volume they receive day in and day out, prior to hitting the DEL button on their PC.

Comreg are therefore quite correct in saying that they have very few recorded complaints about Broadband because they so thoroughly delete them .

Hah Hah Hahhhhhhhhhh <ahem> sorry about that .

The best advice I have seen is to ALWAYS complain to Brussels at the same time. You would be astonished at how fast Comreg then act.

Nobody who complains to info@comreg.ie and CC the email to Brussels is EVER told by Comreg that "We Do Not Regulate Broadband" . Is that not astonishing that eh ???!!!!

Moceri recently explained how its done in this post here

In case any of you are not getting any Joy from either COMREG or EIRCOM you should raise your complaints with the EU Comission for TELECOM REGULATION.

    (Infso-Telecom@ec.europa.eu)

COMREG is sulking like a naughty Child at the moment as Viviane Reding (The Comissioner for Telecom Regulation) wants to centralise all regulation activity and monitoring to a single market. She knows regulators in individual countries are not up to the job.

It was also discussed in this thread here

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=54835206

Eircom sent an engineer out after only a few days, amazing that !!

Would it not be a good idea for people who have received emails from Comreg stating they don't regulate broadband to forward them on to brussels so they can use them to show how national regulators are lying to consumers to confuse them or mentioning in your CC'd email that you've copied them in because the last response was blah, blah, blah.

Something like that, anything that can get a European regulator that might help the bb situation in Ireland!

yea point taken but also, a lot of people just complain on boards.ie. You really need to complain to your provider in writing, email is fine just as long as their is a written record.
Also cc comreg, I know they are useless but numbers matter and we will only ever change things if the numbers are great enough.

I know that a lot of people come on here and rant about their terrible bb service and that's great, its part of what the forum is for. But they also need to email their providers and in a lot of cases they simply dont.
