Guys, Sister is looking to buy a 08 mini very soon.Just want to find out where in Ireland is the cheapest to buy a mini. What dealers give out the best price.
Also will it be cheaper to buy from the countryside as she kind of knows what extras she wants and really just wants to order it at the cheapest price.

Hope someone can help maybe Ned can help.

My sister in law shopped around last year and got the best deal from McKeon's in Kells to move from her '05 MINI One to an '07 Cooper. Two points to note, once the deal was done she found them sh1te to deal with, and rumour has it they are set to lose the BMW franchise this year and presumably MINI with it.

Wow, Lose a franchise they must be doing something wrong but once bought warranty work and servicing can be done locally.

go up north and import a 2005/6 low milage one and save a bucket:D

best way to save the money, i reckon even make a profit if you sold it at the right time:D

    100% right.

It appears a good number of dealers are losing the badge this year. Might even make them keener to deal, knowing it'll be their last few units.

    Autotrader uk Bini coopers

as opposed to bolands bini cooper

funny how they are pushing finance on these!!
they are miles cheaper, even with Vrt.
I buy classic mini mags every month, and the specialists in england have low milage BINI coopers for £6k.
thats €8,500 around, and whats the vrt on those, couldnt be more than €4k.
thats a low milage BINI cooper for €13,000???
thats miles cheaper than what ive seen in garages second handhere.
im sure the prices are similar up north, although britain is just as convinient.

although i reckon if you wait untill the summer you will get a good second hand one real cheap here, market is saturated with them, and with the fiat 500 coming as competition.

My friend's mom found Pat Keogh's very good to deal with for her 3 Series. One thing worth mentioning is that NOTHING can be retrofitted to a BMW unless it is a BMW genuine part. She didn't realise she had to get the homelink system and the fibre optics were all too much when she went to get the headlight relay fitted for the gates. She brought the fitting to Keoghs and they said they wouldn't do it for fear BMW would bollock them from a height. There was a paintwork issue that was sorted without delay and with the utmost of professionalism. Much better than the Merc, VW, Audi chancer anyway!!

I've even heard of BMW dealers up the country removing non BMW issue tyres when cars come in to be serviced. "Safety" or something like that:confused::confused:

Just check to see if it's the same for MINI.

I'd say you are going to have to start calling into or ringing around every dealership to get prices. In my experience turning up in person is the only way to get the best deal as they get dozens of phone calls everyday that bare no fruit. But obviously this is not an option for every dealer in the country.

All manufacturers say that. Sensible people nod their heads and ignore.

(Don't want to turn this into a Dre slagging thread, which in fairness is fun, but don't expect anyone to actually ANSWER the question the OP has posed. The reality is there is no "cheapest garage". A person who doesn't bother getting a quote except from the garage they learned about on a forum deserves to get rodgered good and proper!)

Thanks, But i am asking for views from people on the thread as theres people who might have had the experience (good or bad) of ordering a mini.If you can't answer the question then don't bother :)

All MINIs(excluding Convertibles) are going to get a lot cheaper in July, thanks to the fact that they are fitted with EfficientDynamics(bar the Cabriolet which still doesn't have ED). See the VRT sticky, it has the expected price list for Alfa-Porsche inclusive, plus Toyota. Off the top of my head, the One and Cooper are going to be in 16% VRT(compared to 22.5% for the One and 25% for the Cooper), 14% for the Cooper D(25% now), and 20% for the Cooper S(25% now).

Needless to say buy then rather than now!(plus they will also have much lower road tax too, as littler as €100 for the Cooper D, €150 for the One and petrol Cooper and €290 for the Cooper S)

My sister bought a Mini Cooper last year. She bought it through the UK and had it re-registered. She claims she saved thousands doing it that way. It's a lovely dark blue one with a white roof

Whats this got to do with the question asked.

well I could put it up as a whole new thread but that would just be pointless and would clutter the forum when all is required is a one post response! Done and done.
