Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows XP Product Key doesn't work ?

    Hi all,
I'm re-installing XP on a PC for a friend of mine, for a small company she works for.

The PC is a Dell, and it has an official Windows XP Proffesional Product Key on it (on a sticker).

Anyhoo, I dug up an XP CD of mine and started the install, but when it looks for the product key, and I wnter the one on the sticker (5 X 5 Chars key) it says it's an invalid key ??

Any ideas ? I don't want her company to have to buy a new copy of XP, but I can't understand when the key won't work...

Are there specific distros of XP for different Comapnies ? i.e. would I need a Dell "version" of XP for this key to work ?

Any (legal) suggestions would be great !

    Thanks ! :)

Is the CD an OEM disk? The code on the box is an OEM code and will not work with retail or volume license disks.

Yep, you need an oem disk.

If you can get your hands on the dell restore CD you shouldn't need to input a key on a dell PC as they have it built in.
