Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I want to buy a 10,000 rpm hard drive. The hard drive is Sata I. My on board controller is Sata II / 300. Is it possible to plug a SATA I device into a Sata II controller?

If any one knows the answer, I would appreciate your help :)

    cheers,

    Aiden

There are no issues with plugging 150meg Sata drives into Sata 2 ports.

You may miss out on some features like tagging, hot-plugging, but these are dependent on specific hard-drive, firmware and controller combinations.

    Lads,

Thanks for you help. I found the motherboard manual and SATA II is indeed backward compatiable.

    cheers,
