Roaming with Skypephone

Does anybody know if roaming is enabled on 3 Ireland's skypephone?
I was told when I bought the phone that it was. Despite this I am in now in Italy on the Three Italy network with full 3g coverage and it won't make skype calls. Keeps telling me that I have dialled an incorrect number.

Have called 3's help line a number of times only to be told to remove battery etc and of course this has not helped! I was left on hold for so long that all my credit ran out.

Has anybody else been able to roam using a 3 ireland skypephone?

Was in Rome last week and tho I could connect to skype couldnt make any calls. I could recieve them and also send chat messages tho. Reckon it something to do with the way Skype on the phone works.. Think when you call through skype, it calls a central service number of some sort and then from there it connects the call.. maybe ive that all wrong

I cant tell you about Italy but I picked up a skypephone the last time I was in the UK and It works perfectly over here in Dublin. I just bought 4 topups from a UK garage to keep it going, and It is working perfectly. The mobile modem works fine in my laptop and just for £5stg / 30 days.

I have noticed that if I go to Co. Wicklow it wont work as it tries to roam to Vodafone and then the Skype wont work.

Were you getting a couple of bars and 3G signal on the Three network when you were in Italy, Read somewhere it doesn't work as well on 2G.

Try changing the provider (on the settings of Skype) to 3Italy see if that helps
