Lack of Respect on Some Forums

Having been a valued poster on this site for the last few months, I must voice my concerns on what appears to be a lack of respect on various forums.

People seem only to willing to shoot down others, mock fellow posters, belittle rational claims and so on.

How do others feel about this and is it time for certain posters to get their act togeather?

Such is life. Live with it or renounce the real world and interweb alike.

Also, I lol'd at the "valued poster" comment :)

I don't want to name people and shame people to be honest.

I just want to get peoples views on the matter.

I feel my opinions have been actively sought after by the majority of my fellow posters.

Well if you won't tell us who/what you're talking about, how do we reply? I've experienced no "lack of respect". Or at least none more than usual.

Maybe I am of a more sensitive nature than yourself.

I will name the green issues and politics forums as breeding grounds for what appears to be hit mobs. Certain individuals I will not lower myelf to mention.

Posters don't pay attention enough to what others (me) have to say. If people listened more to each other (me) then this would be a better place for all of us (again, me).

OT, what forums are you talking about OP? AH? TCN? Thunderdome?

I personally extend a hand of friendship to my fellow man, turn the other cheek.

Everyone should be given respect until they do something to lose it.

I am not going to have any level of respect for a poster who admits to not bothering to read the charters of the forums they choose to post in.

Also, what makes people think I have the time to read charters. In my opinion, post away and deal with the problems later.

    problems read bannings.

At least half of the active members on boards.ie has expressed an interest in your opinion? I don't mean to sound insulting but I really do doubt that. Hell, I'd be surprised if any of the valued posters who have been here for years and contribute on a daily basis could claim that...

I would suggest you stop talking yourself up on feedback and go read the rules in the charters, as for people clammering to read what you think, get a blog.

Don't get technical. We are not in court, yet.

    Ever hear of legal action?

I've been threatened a few times, not in here, but nothing ever came of it.

As I said earlier, everyone has the right to an opinion.

And you feel I should respect you for this rather then see it as a sign of weakness and attack?

    NO NO NO NO.

Why are we all on planet serious. Political correctness has taken over everywhere.

Without examples, I do believe that you are part of the silentist conspiracy.

No but seriously. That's like saying, "I know tonnes of priests who are paedophiles and I have evidence, but I don't want to tell anyone".

Thats a pity, but as they say actions speak louder than words.
