Dust on sensor

If i have dust on a sensor in a digital SLR, some photgrapher
recommended that its possible to remove with a hoover ?

obviosuly not putting the hoover in the lens cavity but putting it
close enough with the sensor exposed ??

it seems to make sense, but im a little skeptical to try it..

anyone else know any good ways to remove dust from the sensor..

(Canon EOS 400D ..)

I would be very cautious about that. A rocket blower would be your best bet!

Doesn't the Eos have a dust removal system?

The 400D does but apparetly its not up to much for removing the sticky stuff.

do not under any circumstances go anywhere near your sensor with a hoover!!!

If you've got stubborn spots that won't shift with a blower, you'll need to either get a professional cleaning done or invest in something like a copper hill kit.
