I see NTL have upgraded the offer for new customers that came with a 2mb connection to a 3mb connection.

Have any existing customers of the 2m connection here been upgraded to the 3mb and if so did you have to pay extra?

I think it's the opposite. According to speed tests I've been downgraded to a 1meg connection and I'm still being charged for the old 2meg connection (25eur a month)! Typical NTL!! I'll have to go through the hell that is customer services now!!

This is a billing error then, there is no BB package for €25, the options are

    Broadband Value 1Mb €20.00
    Broadband Express 3Mb €30.00
    Broadband Ultra 6Mb €40.00

I knew my connection was crap but didn't realise how crap until I ran a speed check on it the other night. I'm on the 6mb but my results were about 3000 kb/s down and about 150 kb/s up. I've been harrassing customer service for about a week now, but they don't seem to give a crap, had an engineer out a few weeks back who noticed that my upstream power level was bit high, 55dbmv, has it been sorted?... of course not!

Try around 8pm in the evening and tell us what happens, I'll wager its a different story then? Are you in Dublin 15 as well? I am in Tyrrelstown and it sucks really badly between 6pm and midight.

My results are in this thread:
