Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

curiosity about windows networking issue

    Net work in work is currently working. however, I was doing an audit of the clients on teh network and noticed somethign peculiar and was wondering whether or not this is worth worrying about.

    ran systeminfo from command prompt on each of the client windows XP machines.

    Network setup:
    head office:
    PDC: 2003 server
    Email: ex2003 server
    Old PDC demoted to standalone: NT server
    branch:
    D = 2000 server
    M = 2000 server

    Now:
    DNS is installed on 2003 (PDC) , replicates to Ex2003 and to M
    AD is installed and working

    whats happening:
    some users have ex2003 listed as the logon server in the system info result.

    some users have NT as their logon server , this should not be the case as it is no longer a DC box and is just an archive server, however some server-like components are still running (licensing for terminal services for one).

    Users in branch office D have ex2003 , M or NT as their logon server

    Users in branch M have ex2003 , M or NT as their logon server

    Users in head office have ex2003 , M, NT and some even have the server in D as their logon.

    Is this a problem with server communication that the PDC is not being recognised as the primary logon server ? Could this be causing unnecessary network slowdown during logon ?

    This isnt somethign I have ever really paid much attention to in the past (if it aint broke etc) but I'm bored now and wouldnt mind fixing something weird :)
