I have to get myself a van for work. Im not a mechanic and it would be very helpfull if anybody could give me tips on what to look out for and check when viewing the van.

Its a 03, 70000 mls and passed the DOE last november. The asking price is €4500.

    Thanks for any help.

Steering rack can be dodgy on them. Otherwise a good van, fairly reliable. Try to get the HDI.

I'd a Berlingo (Same Thing) and their pretty hard on the bushings.

    HDI X 2

Thinking about getting a berlingo / partner myself as a runabout. Whats the crack with ins and tax?

Berlingos / Partners can eat tyres if tracking or rear bushings are worn.

    Hi,
I bought a van 2 months ago and have spent 1000 euro fixing it. I had to get the timing belt and the clutch replaced and I got it serviced. If you are buying a van and these items are due for replacing, make sure you allow for this in the offerer you make.

I am now selling my van as I am going back to college.
Sure have a look, it may not be for you, but at least you'd know nothing serious will go wrong with this for a long time: http://adverts.ie/90435

You picked the wrong thread to pimp your ad. It's 12 months old and the op was selling the same van, same year with a lot less mileage for less money. and the arse has fallen out of the car trade in the last 12 months
