Christian 'Apologist' or 'Apologetic'

    I've always know the term for someone who takes part in Christian Apologetics to be 'Christian Apologist', but is it ever correct to call such a person a 'Christian Apologetic'? I didn't think it was, but I saw somebody using that term.

    No. Apologetic is an adjective, whereas apologist is a noun.

    So people might be apologetic about something, but that makes them apologists.

    Nope, there is also a noun. An apologetic is a formal defence of something.

    However the OP is correct. Someone producing such an apologetic is an apologist, and I can't find apologetic attested as a synonym for apologist anywhere.
