This opens up the possibility of a diesel Evo.

Looks nice although the bonnet looks fussy. But why do they bloody well cut out the back in the photo. Its like loads of adds on carzone where half the car is out of shot.

Diesel Mitsubishis for the US too! All the Japs seem to be jumping on the diesel bandwagon for the US(and of course Europe) are at it too!

What ever happened GDI, that offered diesel like economy in it's day?

Diesel economy itself has moved on since the days of Carisma GDI's.

Don't Mitsubishi use VAG diesels these days or are these new ones inhouse?

GDi gave good economy but were not known for their reliability.

Ugly, why havent mitsubushi been able to design attractive sports cars since the FTO/GTO?(the latter is still sexy as hell, even 17 year old white ones)

They definately use the 2.0 VAG in the Grandis, but the 1.5 in the Colt was designed by Daimler Chrysler. the 3.2 in the Pajero and the 2.5 in the L200 is their own.
