    Or Both :D

Im heading to Wisconsin this weekend. Going to work in WI for 3 months so I timed it right pity its not a Packers Patriots bowl. Was tempted to fly down to my friends in Foxboro but couldnt get cheap flights. Still thinking myself and my WI buddies to fly to Arizona to soak in the atmosphere :)

    I cut and pasted the following from NFL insider blog;

A Sick Super Bowl Buildup for Giants

[FONT=Times New Roman, times, serif] PHOENIX--Super Bowl week is being complicated by sickness for the New York Giants.

Cornerback Aaron Ross became the latest Giants player to be hit by flu-like symptoms.

Other ill players have included defensive end Michael Strahan, kicker Lawrence Tynes, defensive tackle Manny Wright, safety Michael Johnson and fullback Madison Hedgecock.

yeah I was listening to NFL all access there today and Adam Schefter I think it was saying that there was a bit of flu going around the Giants camp (surely planted by Bill Bilichick!!;)) but that they should all be fine. Going by the media day most of the Giants mentioned that had flu like symptoms seemed fine anyway (dying of flu myself and I know I wouldnt have been as happy and laughing as some of those guys were!)

oh yeah it was defo bill who spread the nasty flu virus in the camp! lol

on the injury reports subject, its good that nothing mentioned about the ankle for brady, the injury report on friday will tell more though! but the shoulder one is not an issue i imagine, as he is always on the list for that.

hopefully burress wont be in top form cuz i reckon he has the ability to pose problems, he did in the final regular game and he has been playing very well in the playoffs

other then that, just hurry eli and we win, too many bad decisions and its game over

Bill is spreading the virus genius :D:D Im actually surprised no one has come on saying the Patriots are scum for making the Giants sick haha

One thing I noticed all week watching the pregame reports the Giants players in their interviews are being all cocky especially Burress as he went down that road of saying he would gaurantee beating the Pats:rolleyes: Alot of talk over the years about Patriots being scum etc etc but you do notice that none of the players under King Bill speak out of turn or say idiotic things not even Randy Moss.

Loved all the interviews this week and last week of the players saying the coach asked them to play QB when the reports of Bradys ankle came up lol funny Logan Mankins was talking about it and it was hilarious will try find a vid link his face is priceless :D:D

To be fair to Burress I don't think he guaranteed the win, I think he just threw out that the score would be 23-17 when someone asked him. No point in them being there if they don't think they can win so I don't think that's a big deal. Loved Brady's response though that there's no way the Pats would only score 17, if Burress had said 45-42 he'd have been happier :D

yeah it wasnt in the same league as the guy on the subs bench for the Steelers (Smith was it? cant remember) who guaranteed the Steelers win. If the Giants dont think they can win the Superbowl, then they shouldnt be there, so its nothing new that they can see themselves winning. Dont think any of them are coming out guaranteeing it tho to the same extent.

Build up really getting going now!

Nah to me if you predict the game outcome with a score to me you are gauranteeing the win imo.

Burress has been cocky all week and what he should realise the only rise he will get out of the patriots is their fans :D:D Do you talking on the field Burress thats what I say.

not true really tho, I predict the Pats will win 35-24. Do I guarantee that? Hell no, I think the Pats will win, but thats a long way from guaranteeing it!

Agree tho about rising the team, its only the fans who rise to such things. Altho in saying that, Pats do note what the opposition say (take TO and the Eagles, Chargers last year, Steelers this year) so while they may not comment on it or any such like, they still have the everyone against us mentality and drive themselves on.

Thing is me and you predicting is different as we aint on the field. Put it this as a player in any sport you tell someone you are going to win you believe in your own head you are going to win. One thing I have learnt over the years dont predict a game you are playing in not really a good idea. Especially with professionals the words that come out of your mouth cant be taken back. I know its not a full gaurantee but its as good as.

The Patriots have taken notes positively which is excellent on their part instead of rising to it negatively you take it and use it as a driving force to shut them up on the field.

yeah true, I'd never predict a game I was to play in, or publicise it either. Obviously I think I'm going to win, but I dont want to give the other team ammo to come back at me with. I still dont begrudge Buress predicting a score and thinking they can win, or I wouldnt see it as 'fuel', but it is a question that I dont think any Pats player has answered as they are still on the one day at a time page and dont talk themselves up. Buress would have been better saying nothing really I suppose.

The pats listen to everything, then they make examples of the guys who diss them, if its a CB they constantly throw over his head or into his area, if its a RB he gets flattened on a loss of 4 regularly lol..... god help him if its the QB cuz Junior Seau gonna put a serious hurting on him!!!

Friend of mine works for that publisher that made the book she is from MA herself. The book isnt completely finished just yet. The printers are ready to rock and roll though. And its was the publishers decision to release that book pre release clowns. Obviously none will be delivered until the book is finished and the game is over. I though it was hilarious when she told me :D:D

Im trying to convince her other friend to give we one of the Superbowl Champ t-shirts before the game also. She works for the local MA company that makes the t-shirts they wear when they win :):)

I'm sorry, I know every second person in the world seems to be a Pats fan, but their kind of arrogance just makes me retch. Am I alone in craving a Giants win on sunday? Imagine the look of shellshock on Brady's face. I know it won't happen though, the Pats are too good. But sadly, they are all too aware of that.

Success brings arrogance unfortunately. Such is life. I put this to you if the shoe was on the other foot and all the patriot haters teams were this successful you are honestly telling me said teams fans wouldnt be arrogant also????

I support Manchester United all my life - some might say they are arrogant, certainly they are successful, but they didn't have a book out about winning the treble before they'd even won the thing.
Perhaps it's the difference in culture and commercialism between here and the US, but bringing out a book about winning the SB 19-0 before it has happened is arrogance such as I have never seen in my life before. I'm not a hater - Colt's fan maybe (easily the most hated team in the NFL at the moment), Jealous? Yes, but I'm not a Pats hater just because I find them arrogant.

As a UTD fan you are a rare breed for not being arrogant. Every UTD fan I know including a neighbour who is in their academy is arrogant when it comes to UTD. Please UTD winning nearly everything from 1992 and you are honestly sitting there telling there is no arrogance from UTD and their fans with their success please:rolleyes:

The Patriots themselves havent got the book release as far as I know. Its the publishers and newspapers who have started this. There was a reporter form the Boston Globe on PTI yesterday and he was saying that they have it ready and are announcing its availability, but he explained it much lie the way they have tshirts and hats for the winners ready for both teams. Just happens this year that the Pats should they win have an extra milestone to create.

I'd certainly see it as arrogant tho if it were coming from the team themselves, but they are still refusing to talk about going 19-0 and are in no way talking up the game. I'd certainly see some fans as arrogant alright, but in fairness to the team, they are doing more than most to try not show any arrogance, and are as has been said so much, eating humble pie the whole time. Have a look at this video for an example of that. Really advise watching it, might make you change your mind on their arrogance.

    The Patriots Way

so many soundbites you could take out of those interviews

    The way I see it.
Pluses for a Patriot win - It would finally shut up that scumbag Shula, bigmouth Mercury Morris and the rest of those 72 Fish.
Minuses - It's Belithief and the Patsies winning.

Pluses for a Giant win - The Patsies don't win, don't go 19-0.
    Minuses - It's a Giants win.

Any silver lining long got rusted away.

    Worst Super Bowl ever.

Regarding the book, I think the book's just a gamble the publishers have to take - if they do win, they're going to make millions. They don't? loads of pulping.
And I too am a Manchester United fan. Arrogant? I'd like to think I'm not. Though I do know plenty of United fans who feel they have a God given right to win everything - just like all the Liverpool fans I grew up with in the 80's. Me? I was just thankful we actually won a title, and everything since has been a wonderful bonus, because it will end at some point. Carlos Quieroz will probably be the second coming of Dave Sexton.

I have had some experience in my work about how the book publishing world works - the club would likely have to have some involvement in the book contract re copyright etc. in some usage but the author could be working independently as regards the textual content. Having said that a book takes about a minimum of 6 to 8 months to put together. It's not arrogance that is driving this but just the book publishing business and the way it works. If they want a book then it would have to be prepared way before hand in order to get it out. If the Pats win they will go with the full winning season on the cover - if not they can still spin it another way and do a quick revision. This will only take days.

There are biographies of famous people in the wings - written and all set to go - just waiting for the subject to die before publication. This is how the book business works. Weird maybe to those on the outside but that's how it works.

Yeah you're right ...I was thinking of official photos or even copyright stuff from the team or NFL archives etc. but yes,it could be done independently of the club. But the point I was trying to make anyway is that something like this takes time.... early preparation is necessary.

I'm not an arrogant Man Utd supporter because I supported them through the lean years, unlike a lot of others. Similarly, I daresay there's a lot more Pats fans than there was in 2001.
At the end of the day I've nothing against them though. I just don't want to see a team I'm not a fan of win 4 SB's in 7 years.
