Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My sister pointed it out to me when she tried to leave a voice message on my mobile. Some scumbag kids had been able to record their own message as my voicemail message. How can they do this? My phone doesn't be out of my sight, so it would have to be done remotely. Does anyone know how they did it? I should've had a password protecting my voicemail, which I do now.

Did you ever change your voicemail password after you got the phone? If not, the password is set on 0000 and anyone can ring your message minder and record a new message. Change your message and then change your password.

ya all ya have to do is ring the number putting a 5 after the prefix so 08551234567, press # then if they haven't change the pin, its just 0000

Yep, if you didn't change the password it's easy to do from a landline with the 5 before the number.

Someone once complained to the network I worked for about a similar situation. She was an uber powerful business woman. A potential client rang her up and her message minder went straight to the sound of two people getting it on. Rather... explosively.

Apparently, among others, her mother and the japanese business man were both rather suprised.

Yep, very easy to change/listen to people's vms. Most of the time they haven't changed it from the default.

Oldest trick in the book, to be fair. I remember doing this when I was 13.

Yeah, it's easily done. I remember some psycho was sending my mother nasty texts and ringing giving her grief so I changed her vocemail message saying it was an escort ageny. Possibly childish but all is fair in love and war

One time I changed a friend's as a practical joke. He had returned from a year in Australia and was looking for a job, going to recruitment agencies etc.

I changed his vm to me introducing myself as him then saying something rather crude.

I then got a girl from the office to phone 0875... and leave a message saying she phoned about the job and he has a peculiar message.

So he gets a text to say he has a vm. He phones up to check his messages, curious he phones to hear his message.

Once he heard it he phoned the recruitment agency right away and repeated to the woman what was on the vm.

I hadn't intended it to go that far!
