After firing say 50-100 rounds and then clean using copper solvent will your zero be affected by cleaning?

I find that point of impact shifts a few clicks with a sparking clean barrel, and it takes a shot or two to foul the barrel before point of impact moves back to point of aim.
This is more pronounced with .22LR, but it happens with the centrefires too.

Of course, this phenomenon also happens with a cold barrel, so some experiments may well be in order.

thanks for the replies, I do clean after a range session to stop copper build up but havn't this time and am going stalking during the week so I guess I'm best leaving the cleaning until after this. I have noticed a few flyers firing with a hot barrel so now let it cool.

If you are using the gun for stalking , you are better to set your zero
to your first cold barrel shot .

It takes a little while to achieve this ..
But.. If a Deer happens your way , he's hardly going to hang around for you
to warm the thing up with a couple of shots first.

For hunting the cold clean barrel zero ..Is what you should try for.
