    This has the possibility of becoming a long-running thread if people have other queries.

    I'm helping a kid with a project on his grandparents and they have mentioned 'The Galway Arms' as a place they socialised. It could have been a dance hall or a pub and is almost certainly north inner city, probably 1940s to 60s.

    Anyone know where it was? I can't find any photos of it in my usual sources, so a photo of what is there now will have to do. I asked the child to ask them again where it was, but they had trouble remembering naming it, let alone where it was.

    Here's hoping someone can help.

    it was in parnell street opposite barry's hotel and next to a pub called the kerry pub. dont know whats there now. an oul' fella in a pub near there gave me the info today

    He probably just got the street name wrong. I'll see what I can find by checking Parnell Street and Great Denmark Street in an old Thom's. It narrows down the search considerably.

    Directly opposite where The Odeon is. Theres an office block there now.
