say Dun Laoghaire or the lighthouse in Ringsend, what type of fish are people trying to catch and is it for eating?

could be anything from codling to conger eels..
majority of fish caught are usually returned, but there are a few that take everything home , nothing wrong with taking one or two good sized fish home, just wish they'd return the undersized ones

i would be surprised if someone said no...

a few of the colder water species are around: cod, whiting
and a few of the usual suspects are about: shore rockling, flounder

there will always be something to catch... its just a matter of going out there and freezing your balls off to find them
