Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Try this then,

    Start Internet Explorer.
Click on the Tools menu, then click Internet Options in the pull down menu.
    Click on the Advanced tab.
Under “Security” section tree, clear the Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart) check box.
    Click OK button.
    Exit Internet Explorer.
Sign in to Windows Live Messenger again.

Do you have the newest version of messenger? Is it MSN messenger of Windows Live Messenger? Perhaps that might help?

Try a different client. Pidgin is nice.

its windows live messenger. i got so sick of all this that i installed the newest version, and it keeps saying KEY PORTS is the problem. im comfluzled.
zonealarm is allowing messenger work away yet msn says it could be my firewall..:(

Turn off ZoneAlarm for a moment and see if it works. I've had major issues with ZoneAlarm in the past even though I've allowed applications to access the net and then finding out that it won't allow.

Is it returning any error number when you try to log in?

Is the time & date set correctly on your system?

Can you also clarify if your OS is XP or Vista?

    regsvr32 softpub.dll

    then click OK

and do the same for the following:

    regsvr32 wintrust.dll

    regsvr32 initpki.dll

    regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

Check your IE Security settings -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools

Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check for server certificate revocation" is unchecked.

Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL 3.0' is checked, then click OK.

    Finally,

    Open regedit

Navigate to the following key & delete it
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies

In your case this key might read WindowsLiveMessanger instaead of MSNMessanger, I'm not sure.

    Try to login again.

    OK!

If you are not familiar with editing the registry then don't go there.

This file will do it for you.

Just download it & double click it & agree to let it run.

    Hi gadgetman496!
I seem to be having all of the same difficulties Nerin was having.
I've tried all of those solutions you listed here... except one: I can't access either of the files you gave Nerin to download, which seemed to have fixed the problem. Would you mind re-posting them with a working link? I would greatly appreciate it!
