Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good stuff Typhooner! I just noticed that the precip was heading in the direction of Clare and, being a Banner man myself, I was wondering how my countymen were getting on! Sounds like I'll be able to get a good idea off you! Now if only I get a bit of sneachta myself here....

Should turn back to snow if its keeps going.

Expecting it to be sleety here too before hopefully turning into snow.

Im on the Offaly/Westmeath border and its after getting cloudy and looks like something in the air, doesn't look too cold out though

South Laois here. Few sleet showers here today, but nothing for the last good few hours now.
Temps are hovering between 1.1c and 1.9c all evening.
Winds Westerly, persistant - not gusting though.

I see, i would love to be able to underline the boundary of real cold air.

Light sleet here, it's taking it's time to get heavier- basically drizzle and small snow flakes.

EDIT: Someone I know in north meath says they have snow.

Know what to expect here then when it shows! Thanks Mylow :(

Light rain here now as well. Can see a few stars so it must just be from some light cloud.

This whole thing has too many similarities to Monday night 26th February 2001, the exact same thing happened!! Band of showers of rain/sleet/hail...... go to bed giving up... 6 inches the next day..

    Please happen again!!

I was out further north in meath at a meal, snowing heavy in Rathfeigh, North of Ashbourne, granted its on a bit of a height, the snow gradually turned to rain as we made our way back the short 20 minute trip to Dunshaughlin, light drizzle falling outside here. I very much doubt there will be any snow here tonight, feeling much milder than it did any point earlier on today.

HEAVY SHOWER means rain though, no? If it were snow it's say HEAVY SNOW

    10 mins ago (Sligo)

Hail shower, one bolt of lightning, immediatedly followed by massive thunder and bang went the internet.

Wind has died down almost completely now, no further sign of lightning or thunder.

Jaysus anyone watching the 9:00 news on RTE1? Must be rough going up in Donegal. Has to be bad to blow over an artic! Interesting to see Jean too outside of weather presenting mode! She's one of my favourite presenters!... on topic again: wind still rising here.
