Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I can clearly see the end of the front about 5-10 miles west of here. Snow turned back to rain for last 5 minutes and has stopped.

So, it's a 45 minute long snow fall, with grounds far too wet for settling.

    Nothing of great importance really.

/wonders can them showers packing in deliver/

Jaysus - did anyone read tonights forecast on www.met.ie - sounds good:

Some scattered showers early tonight and becoming very cold with temperatures falling to between -2 and +2 degrees with frost and icy stretches developing. Heavier showers of rain, hail and sleet will spread eastwards overnight and strengthening west to southwest winds will clear the frost from most places by morning.

just windy on Bray sea front,

Surf is good, five surfers oout on the waves.

Any idea when we may be likely to see some white stuff here.

There may be none at the coast but if there is, it'll be about an hour I guess.
Longfield will see it perhaps 20 minutes before hand

Whoa! The second band of rain has reached here but the temp has plummeted from 6.0c to 3.8c in the space of 5-10mins. I think I can already see sleet falling too.

Still definitely in the warm air here. Currently 7.1°C with a dp of 5.2°C. Should be an interesting transformation pretty soon.

Maybe your 6 inches of snow is 2 days late Matty:D:D
Seriously though i think this surprised everyone.
I think thickness's are everything lately and if you look at the 06z run the 528 dam line is always nearby
    Snow potential tonight definately
Wouldn't it be funny if we got more snow tonight than last Friday

Whatever happens we are all becoming a joke at forecasting the weather
    Today fooled all of us

    Heavyish sleet here, 2.2c

Updated Met.ie for tonight: Rain and sleet clearing eastern counties early tonight but wintry showers continuing in the west. Clearing skies will allow icy stretches to form on untreated surfaces. As the night goes on, wintry showers will spread further east and isolated thunderstorms are likely. Southwest winds will strengthen overnight but icy patches will remain. Lowest temperatures -2 to +3 degrees Celsius.
