Cost of childcare in Mayo

    Does anybody know a standard price in Mayo region for a woman to mind a baby (9 months) in her own home ? In Clare, this is in the region of Eur 25-30 per day, but we are being told that it is more like Eur 75 per day in west Mayo (!) Are these people taking the p*ss ?

    If this is the price, it will not be worth my wife's while going back to work.

    A relation of mine pays €90 for 4 days in Castlebar she works 9-6. I think it's very cheap, but the lady has 4 kids that she looks after so i guess she is happy with it. I would say the average you speak about is most likely the average here too. Best of luck.

    Maybe if youre more specific with the area people can pm you if they know anyone good with reasonable rates?...Just a thought.

    Definatly €25 - €30 a day or €125 a week. Anything more is scandelous.
