i'd imagine the amount of views is because its a porsche, some people like to window shop

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 117 ✭✭djeclips

Well it's not you're average family four door saloon, more people having a nosy than anything me thinks. Looks well though!

I'm in the same boat as yourself, over 5500 views at this stage and only one caller, cheep as chips too but again not to everyones taste:(

It's a fairly specialised market for Porsche, as woodseb says; window shoppers dream.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,932 ✭✭✭✭listermint

Probably have to drop the price slightly to spark interest. tight car though.

Eh maybe because you crashed it into a traffic island...

Hi i was in town on monday turning onto Grantham street from camden street
took it wide to avoid some kids and drove over the remains of a bollard
took the underneath outta the car (Boxster) cut the petrol line and radiator
have a look street closed off thought car was gonna go up but it didnt
fire brigade and police called ..the Police were brilliant and totally agreed with me they told me they did the same thing last week but didnt want to say anything as they would have gotten in trouble

Lets not forget its -50 in the mornings, not cabrio weather!

Colour combo is probably limiting interest too

    specialist car
    middle of winter
people confused about vrt - road tax - fuel prices, I know first to don't apply but...

you only need one - though and it's surely one of the better ones out there.

    hahahaha
    well spotted

all that happened that was the petrol lines were cut and the
    the antifreeze lines were cut
and a few plastic panels underneath were replaced (by Porsche)
there were no panel damage or crash damage (ie bent metal parts bumper damage etc)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 426 ✭✭roughan

Anything will sell if the price is right. 27k for a 10 year old car sounds a bit steep .

Your car is 10 years old and it's a 2.5 a new 2.7 is not nearly 100k new as far as I know you can only NCT a car 3 months in advance so how come it says April 10 in one part of the ad and May 10 in another ? Nice work Tails142 It just dosen't sound like he's telling the whole truth Spending that money I think somebody would want a warranty also

Some of the page views might not be real people, they could be search-engine spiders or web-crawler bots.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,380 ✭✭✭daRobot

Without wanting to be too blunt, your car is about 4-5k overpriced, hence your lack of calls.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,590 ✭✭✭tossy

    Ok some general points.

Your car looks well and the photos show its good points,i dont know where the were taken but it appears to be a show room or some car related business in the background, that to me screams trade add even though its marked as a private sale, now im not saying anythinng dodgey is going on here, but to me a normal joe soap looking o carzone for any car that would set of alarm bells - its the little things.

The NCT Thing would also set of alarm bells

I recently sold my car it was up on carzone for 5 days with over 500 views and i didnt get one call,it was on CBG for 1 day and got 1 call, got no calls from autotrader and buyandsell after 1 day-in the end the car sold to a guy who seen it on the road and not in an add.

  • Registered Users Posts: 416 ✭✭tvr

Yeah I agree the photos aren't helping you people will thing you are in the trade and are trying to pull a fast one by selling privately to avoid the hassle of a warranty which might imply there is something wrong with the car.

Therefore take some pics of it in the drive away.

I would guess those pictures are taken in the UK ? as I see the symbol for the MOT in 1 or 2 photos. Take some proper pics !

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,590 ✭✭✭tossy

Well spotted, looks like UK tax disc in the window also so whats going on??

Are these the original pics of the car that the guy/garage you bought it from took? if so you are having a laugh

Also why it referred to as having £££ of extras instead of €€€ of extras?

(A small point but since everyones playing detective today I thought I'd join in)

Not trying to offend the OP and I'm not too clued up on Porsche prices but a neighbour of mine bought a 01 Boxter 2.7 with 70k miles on the clock just before Christmas for €28k from a dealer. Granted it is Canary yellow in colour  but I think you might want to take another look at your asking price all the same if your getting no interest.
