"An Air Canada flight made an emergency landing in Ireland after a pilot apparently suffered a mental breakdown. A passenger said the pilot was carried from the plane shouting and swearing, saying he wanted to talk "to God"."

Now who needs Interceptor jet's, God forbid there was nobody to fly her and she was going down over Ireland. Only when the s**t hits the fan will the Govt act and by then it will be too late.

How could there have been 'nobody to fly her'? An incident like this is very, very rare. And there would have been a captain and possibly another co-pilot on board this flight!

A Quote from a person in the know "I have heard that a Monday Air Canada flight from Toronto to Heathrow was diverted to Shannon because the First Officer started talking loudly to God whilst flying the plane.

Apparently he was restrained by the rest of the crew and passengers, hands and feet bound and handcuffed to a seat.

His place on the flight deck was taken by a Canadian Armed forces flying officer, who was a passenger on the flight.

I'm curious: how would interceptors help if there was nobody to fly her?

I think he would rather shoot her down than let the AC hit a populated area.

Not Surprising the stress and long hours that come with the job probably pushed him over the edge good thing nobody was hurt.
