I know it's a bit late to be asking since they're on tomorrow but..... Is anyone else from UL (esp Business if there's any of ye here) heading up to Google interviews in Dublin? Or was anybody at the main set of interviews last week?

I got the date changed because of FYP deadline but I havnt met anybody else going and wondering is it just me. Anybody who was there last week have any advice? SO much recommended research to do for it!!

An interview with Google....lucky you. Take a look over on the Work & Jobs forum for some general interview advice. Other than that familiarise yourself with their products, give a look at the link below. Know who founded the company and where their head quarters is as well. As you said there's a lot of research to do on them so if time is short I'd say know what their core products are i.e. Search (including search appliances), Gmail, Google Docs and probably Google Earth/Maps

I know! kinda can't believe it! But my FYP was something they'd probably be interested in.

They gave me LOADS of links for stuff to be familiar with and I've read some of it and have the rest printed for that long train journay up in the morning. It seems way too detailed for a half hour interview though-very technical. Just wondered if anyone had been already and found they needed to know it all.

It was the same for us last year Nutty....from what I remember it was only business people they were after. Still general advice for the interview stands it's a good idea to know about their products and general stuff about the company.

Nutty: That sounds like you were talking to a dazed & confused Business recruiter. Google definitely have a few dozen open engineering jobs currently. Check http://google.ie/jobs for details.

I know some new grads who were hired into those positions, if it helps. If you have questions about those kinda jobs, PM me.

Definitely untrue that we only want business folks. Can you PM me with the place this recruitment fair was at, and when? Definitely want to make sure this doesn't happen again.
