Probably. Interleaving is there to combat errors. Not sure of the ins and outs, but I'd imaging switching to Fast would require a very good line.

I don't know what exchange I'm on in Limerick to be honest. I've seen a Roches St exchange mentioned in this thread and BT list a Dooradoyle exchange on their website. Both are 5 mins walks from me.

dooradoyle is being upgraded on the 25th July as is Roches street.

My bad, Roches Street is the central Limerick exchange above, did a wrong search on spreadsheet

And just because there are upgrades happening not everyone can avail of them. I have seen already people not being upgraded because of their line or being upgraded from 3 to 4 meg.

Well to be more accurate I'm only a 10 minute walk from Roches St so I'm very hopeful.

Eircoms system have been updated after the pilot so eircom know exactly what speed u will be upgraded to, ask your provider!

What part of malahide? Just because i am in malahide but a fair distance from the exchange so i would have thought i wouldn't have got it if it was only parts of malahide.

I have Eircom 1MB at the moment on the rush exchange around 3km from it.
Was wondering if people know when this will be upgraded, then Ill get my speed increased

1meg is staying as 1meg

ul have to upgrade ur package to benefit from the speed increases

eircom Broadband Speeds Upgrade Programme

eircom is currently implementing a series of DSL broadband speed upgrades which will significantly increase Internet speeds available to a large portion of eircom’s retail and wholesale customers.

.The upgrade programme consists of two stages:

1. The installation of ADSL2+ equipment in 117 of the largest exchanges in Ireland
2. An automated software upgrade for the majority of eircom retail and wholesale customers currently on 2Mb or 3Mb broadband.

Stage 1 - ADSL2+ Upgrade

The installation of ADSL2+ equipment to our largest telephone exchanges allows eircom to offer speeds of up to 12Mb on its network. This process has been completed in more than 100 exchanges to date. Existing broadband customers, previously on 4Mb or 6Mb broadband, that have a line which qualifies for the faster speeds and who are connected to one of the following exchanges are in the process of being upgraded to 10Mb and 12Mb respectively.

Please check back regularly as additional exchanges are added. The exchanges completed include:

well Malahide was upgraded yesterday,and I'm in Malahide but did not get any upgrade still on the 3MB despite rebooting the router many times....not a happy camper ,any ideas

Perhaps you have a very poor line and cannot go beyond 3? My router says that the max speed of my line is about 6.5m down and 1.2up. So even if i did get the 3mb service, i couldn't fully utilise it
