Moderate to heavy rain/sleet showers. Feeling Cold, but not cold enough. If these showers were of snow there would be quite a covering. But they are not, and everywhere is flooded, just like it should be in the west of Ireland. Hope others around the country are getting something a bit of snow anyway.

Temp now 3.3c, and rising.

yeah, perhaps i'm kiddiding myself. it is 2 degrees milder now than it was at 6pm this evening. the best thing would be if it cleared up right now for a few hours, the temperature would surely go down, and then for it to start snowing at five or six.

It has just started snowing heavily, here in south Mayo. There was a light sprinkling of snow already on the ground.
No temperatures, sorry but it does feel very cold.
Lightly snowing now, after 5 minutes!!

Snow is hammering down now in Sligo, and not a flake of it sticking.

    *edit*
Flippin hell, most of that's hail, and it's hammering down. Opened the window and it nearly blew off the hinges. It's really really dark now too. The good news is the hail is sticking, so we might get a base for the snow. Although that'll make pretty treacherous driving when I've to head to work later.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,431 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Cold, really cold, will be a penetrating frost tonight.
Currently -0.4°C ith a dp of -4.6°C, it could get really cold tonight.
Could lead to a snowie breakdown on frozen ground..but the way this northerly has gone it probably not.

On and off light rain here in a stiff breeze. Sun trying to break through now and again. The worst kind of day possible. Still feeling cold in the wind.

5.5c and 90% rh. 1003.4 mb falling quite quickly.

Low last night of -1.6c. Nothing spectacular.

Wind really getting up now, just had a gust of 59km/hr

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,978 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Rain just arriving.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Despite the radar, no rain here today - must have been high level precip evaporating before it hit the ground. Cold last night with -2.5c recorded. Some light snow at some stage of the night as landed flakes were distinguishable from the mad hoar frost.
