    Derren Brown: The System
Investigating the psychology behind gambling and using his unique combination of skills to create guaranteed wins, Derren proves his system works every time. Not only that, but he explains it fully to us at home. But how fool-proof is this system and will his participant, believing in him and his predictions, risk her life-savings on one more race?

As Derren reveals: "I took a member of the public and I told her which horse would win in a certain race; when it did win she was intrigued and I did it again and again and she started to bet more and more money according to my system. She's scraped together every last penny she could find and she is risking it all on one final race. Is it really possible to predict every time which horse will win? Welcome to The System."

On tonight at 9pm on channel 4.
May be interesting to try and spot how he does it at least.

I think that most of those things are country specific, UK shows only available to UK residents methinks.

How does that work then? If it's long and complicated, don't worry bout it.

    google it... it's really simple...

    Yay!!!!!!

Nah, ur unlikely to find a proxy which will work on the site... Tried it with BBC before, but most proxies usually send a "message" to the site which shows that it's a proxy, and then they're just blocked.

It's a great show and I am currently reading "Tricks of the Mind", It's a fantastic book, and explains many of the concepts. I have a few of his e-books as well, and in one of them, he explains how he does all of his poker tricks. ...ebooks costs money though :D

He has started to do all his magic in america for his show because of his anonymity. Casinos and other gambling shops have began kicking him out of their premises in England.

    Nev

so do people believe this is a trick or what?

presumably if he is going to explain it it must kinda work?

I'll have a goo when it's on. Surely some trick behind it otherwise after tonight we'll all be winners! One other part of a show he did was at a greyhound track where he managed to get paid out on losers by using some mind trick on the poor girl at the counter.

A system that guaranteed to back a winner every time , t'would put the bookies out of business. *What would we do then?

C4 is available if you have sky. Just stuck it on autoview. Cant wait. cheers Forky.

Imagine if it actually works. lol

*I don't imageine i would ever get fed up with Vegas with all the money we would have made helping those poor old bookies close down.

    Anyone watching?
Looks fairly obvious that he sent out tips for each horse for a race to loads of people, then sent the winners out tips for the next race, tipping every horse. And on and on, until someone had got all winners. (the old tipster trick)

Yeahh think youre dead on the money there Forky..the whole "anon" thing with the texts and emails. Hmmm.

Yeah, very suspicious. The coin thing was him throwing it in completely in his control probably from hours of practice. Interested to hear him explain how he picks the winner at the track at the end of the show.

Ha, he even admits it the begger.

Oldist tipster trick in the book. Not very original Derren.

HAHA Forky, spot on. This could be a bit of a disappointing, but expected end.

    WOooooh what an unexpected ending!!

    NOT!!

Very disapointing and unlike usual derren!nerly as bad as kieth barry standard!haha

  • Registered Users Posts: 289 ✭✭Kinda32

He probably put 4000 on all the horses and slipped the winner in her pocket at the end!!!.. Not exactly a fool-proof system.. haha

I know if I gave someone 4k to put on a horse, I'd check the slip straight away.
Show was kinda interesting for a while, when he got the 4 people from the racing world to pick a photo each from 500 photos, and the ones they picked had the same initials as themselves. They then stood in the order 1/4/3/2 and this then spelt out the odds of it happening 1.42 billion to one.
Meh, suppose it's the way the show was advertised, 'ohhh finally a way to beat the bookie', sorta hypes the show up.
