Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A friend of mine and well known DJ sells absolute crap on e-bay but somone always buys is, the items range from beermats, bottletops to stuff you get free in cereral boxes, most of the stuff he gets for nothing.
    Hers one example..
Sitting down in front of the computer wondering what to sell next, sticks his hand in his pocket and pulls out a load if irish euro coins(A complete set) which works out @ 3.88 and a bidder paid near 10 euro for them and an extra 3.50 for postage, i mean WTF:eek:
So can anything sell on e-bay??

    Wiki......

The web site was founded in San Jose, California on September 3, 1995 by French-born Iranian computer programmer Pierre Omidyar as AuctionWeb,[1] part of a larger personal site that included, among other things, Omidyar's own tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Ebola virus.

The very first item sold on eBay was a broken laser pointer for $14.83. Astonished, Omidyar contacted the winning bidder and asked if he understood that the laser pointer was broken. In his responding email, the buyer explained: "I'm a collector of broken laser pointers."

So yes, the website is founded on selling worthless items.

I think he got around 75,000 for it. He said on the ad that it was played by all the great guitarists.

I remember seeing a program about Ebay and how people would buy just about anything...so to prove the theory a chap walking on a beach found some old rope. He put it up for sale on Ebay and got £3.00 for it....so the answer to your q OP is YES people will pay money for old rope.

theres another "artist" in new york who roams the streets pulling "garbage" from bins, stuffing it into perspecs cubes and sells them. The feckers earning a tonne!!

I know someone who put a turd in tupperware and sold it on ebay claiming it was Britney Spears' unflushed turd after a gig in the Point Theatre. He is now a fairly well know TV personality.

Would you buy a used Gentleman's Willy Care Kit off this man?

Actually, hang on. Gentleman's Willy Care Kit? As opposed to Lady(boy)'s Willy Care Kit?

    Did anyone buy it?

I went out with a friend of Emma Watson ( who plays Hermione in Harry Potter) and she told me a guy snuck into Emma's bedroom at a party, stole one of her thongs and sold it on ebay.

    Sheer spirit of enterprise there.

someone sold an evil rubber duck on there - they had a massive story about how it had tired to kill their baby and they'd had the priest in to bless it and everything. They didn't want to chuck it out as it just came back. Sold for over $2000 in the end.

Not everything sells, someone had a large ball of hair and not just any old ball of hair but one they'd spent time weaving very neatly together and they got zero bids.

I was going to try and sell my soul on ebay, but couldn't find any examples of a successful aution of someone's soul yet so didn't bother. Have people gotten anything for their soul?

    IIRS
Click on line , the BBC tech series, did a program on eBay and to prove a point sold a bit of old rope.

Then there is that casino that buys stuff to get publicity, one woman got their name tattooed across her forehead to pay for her kids operation.
