First time pc build...

    Ok this is the first pc i have put together and i would appreciate all the advice i can get:

    The primary use is going to be

    1. Media - possibly put some of my dvd collection on the hardrive -- blu ray playback etc

    2. Internet browsing etc

    3. Gaming - i may as well get the best spec graphics card etc when im at it, so playing the likes of crysis would be on the agenda.

    After a bit of advice from a friend, i have put this together:

    Added to this from my old pc would be:

    1. Motherboard
    2. 2gig of ram
    3. Amd x2 5000 dual core processor
    4. sound card
    5. 320gb hardrives - windows xp media center 2005 installed
    6. Dell 2407 monitor with soundbar
    7. 500gb My book external hardrive
    8. Keyboard and mouse

    The above would be coming out of a Dell Dimension c521 pc bought about 7 months ago...


    Comments on the spec please.....

    I want to be fully futureproofed in terms of hd playback and gaming - i may upgrade the cpu and get faster ram next year but thats all i want to be upgrading for the next 2-3 years

    What is the best place to buy this stuff considering delivery to Ireland etc?
