What's the most direct / quickest route from Dalkey to UCD?

i was thinking walk to Dun laoghaire (25 mins) and then the 46A (around 40 mins??? never taken it so don't know how long it would be)

The alternative is, walk to DART station (12 mins), then Dart to Sydney parade (15 mins) and then walk to UCD (25 mins?? again not sure how long it would take)

The 46a seems the best option, does it take long from DL to UCD??

Yeah the 46a is the best way to go, takes roughly about 35-40 mins to UCD,can you get the number 8 from Dalkey to Dun Laoghaire or have they scrapped that route?? Would be handy.

7D from Dalkey to City, goes past ucd, leaves at 0735 from dalkey and 1742 from the city.

    In order of speed.

7D as spareman said if the time suits. (20-25mns)
    8 to Mounttown, 46A to UCD (5mns + 30mns + wait time)
59 to Dun Laoghaire 46A to UCD (to time the 59 from Dalkey add approx 20mns to the Mackintosh Pk departure time) (5mns + 35/40mns + wait time)

I see plenty of people get the 8 in the morning to Mc Cormick's pub, for example, then to head to the other side of the road to catch the 46A. So long as you know the times for the 8, you'll have no prob catching a 46A at the other end. I suppose the Dart / bus combo may suit you better, depending on where you are leaving Dalkey.

The 84 goes straight there, or you could get the 45 to cornelscourt and change to the 145 from there (both quite frequent).
