The Astro site seems to say it's a 21:30 kick-off in St. Columbas. Dying to get back playing after missing a couple of weeks. Played the 90 minutes with Simon's team on grass, sorry mud, yesterday so am looking forward to playing on a surface where you can pass the ball without it getting sucked in by the mud.

Bit quiet on here. Is Dan available tonight? Hope we get a turnout. Every single game now till the end of the season has revenge written all over it. But that'll mean nothing if no one turns up

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

    art is in tonight.
dan is ok, he should be there also.

i think my season is over.

Sorry to hear that Ed - you were having a great season so would be sorry to hear its ended due to injury.

Spoke to Gav yesterday and he'll be there, pretty sure Kenny & Carl will be too.

see, u should never describe an incident like this and then stop short of saying what you did.

Clearly it involved a chick with an adam's apple or some sort of masturbation issue

That for me tonight was the worst performance I've seen since I joined the team. Where do I start with what was wrong? Ok, a few players had off days which can't be helped but there was no grit, no talking and we barely had a shot on goal. There's no one bar myself talking at the back. No communication. None. If I step up to mark a player I knew everytime that no one was gonna tell me there was someone behind me or whatever. This crops up every week. Players either not listening or daydreaming at the back. I know not everything I say is ****ing spot on and I never shut up sometimes but I've played the game at a decent standard and I do sometimes know what I'm talking about. But other than Geoff, no one listens back there. And that for me meant that we never had things under control in defence, which in turn made things difficult for us to get anywhere in the game. Now bring on the lack of discussion

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

i agree about the lack of communication martin, but there is more to it than that.pure and simple, this teams functions alot better when we tear into teams and fight hard for the ball. watching from the sidelines tonight, and last week, we were beaten to most second balls and also, the amount of times we were brushed off the ball was shocking. we need to get back to basics and not be afraid to hit people, but smartly. starting next week, we need to rise out game again.

i know i have only played 10 or 15 minutes out of the last 3 games and i feel like im letting the team down, but we need to put in one hell of a performance next week to lift this again. im hell-bent on playing next week, im going to work hard this week to get me groin sorted.

If you're not fit and you play you'd be ;etting the team down. Not the other way round Ed. Just concentrate on being fit for next season

I think he's referring to the fact nobody is arsed discussing these things apart from the usual suspects every week.

Kinda ironic yizzer both talking about 2 different things yet they're almost related....

What the hell has happened the last 2 weeks. I've been unable to attend due to work commitments but will be there next week on. Let's turn this f*7king thing around and start getting stuck into teams.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,081 ✭✭✭LeixlipRed

While I agree the getting stuck in thing has been lacking lads, it's not as simple as that. Some players on the pitch either have no clue whatsoever what they're meant to be doing (relate this to lack of communication) or cannot play in the position they're being asked to. Getting stuck in only gets you so far. We had the ball plenty of times tonight yet did nothing with it.

What's lacking imo in a post match discussion of what the **** went wrong or right in a game. The lads who discuss things on here are generally agreeing with each other about whats going wrong. There's no actuall progress being made. It's frustrating tbh.

mate i'd say 75% or more of team read the stuff but just don't post. This has to change
