When I got my Army AK47 and tried to charge the the battery
it showed no signs of charging with either the charger that came with it or my main battery charger.

I thought I just got a dud battery so never thought anything of it.
    Now months later..........

Today I Just got my Army R85 and having trouble with charging the Battery that
    came with that too.

Its a Large Type 8.4v 1200MAh that is branded as the army brand.

I have a BOL Basic-01 4-8cell charger that I use for all my batteries.
    Set at 1.5A

When I turn the charger on it initially charges on fast charges but after I minute
it goes back to trickle charge.

This has never happened on any other batteries I have had apart from the
Army Branded batteries. Normally it fast charges everything fine.

I dont have a multi-meter at hand at the moment to measure the voltage.

Would anyone have any suggestions on whats up ?
Maybe Ni-cd just like to be SLooowww charged.

My money would be on another broken battery.

Mmm having a little better luck when I wind back the charger to 0.5A
seems to not have cut out the fast charge.

The higher current may have caused a artificially higher voltage reading
and cut the charge down to trickle mode.

have ya got any clone cheapo chargers? try them for a few hours and see if the battery gets a ful charge then, it should take about 4 hours on a battery that is run in., that way you'll know if the battery is to fault of if its the charger.,

The thing eventually charged up at the lowest setting on
my charger. took about 3 hours to charge.

Think I prefer Nimh over Ni-cads
