Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just called Setanta to cancel my subscription with them on my sky satellite

The guy on the end of the line asked me all sorts of questions about why I was cancelling and said "Did you know Liverpool have a match on the 2nd March and you will now miss it...blah blah blah"

I still proceeded to cancel it and then was offered the whole package for £5/month for the rest of the season, which is about €6.60. This is a drop from €20/month

So if you are all out there like I was overpaying for this subscription, ring them up to cancel and avail of this lower offer....

Yeh this seems to be a common policy, heard reports about it in the UK too. Apparently you can push them further aswell.

BFP! Seems reasonable compared to their usual price... we don't have it, so I wonder will is work without a subscription.

    ...

"Liverpool's perforances are the reaons that I'm actually cancellign in the first place!"

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

ya he sniggered when I said Liverpool and probably thought that aswell....stupid thing is, my sign up date is the 8th of teh month so I will have it until March 8th so he got his dates wrong....

any £5/month for Setanta is £5 more than what I will be paying for it after I cancel it f ya know what I mean....

The sky digital box in my mams gave up about 3 years into having it (you are, or were at the time, only covered for a free replacement within 12 months). Looking online I saw posts on forums suggesting that if you call up, say the box is knackered, and if they refuse a replacement give a sob story "...I really cant afford 300 for a new one....Im unemployed, it will take me months to get a spare 300, which means Ill have to cancel sky altogether seein as Ill be payin for somethin i cant watch......." basically the above, they will concede and give you a free one.

I rang. It failed. 300 odd for a new box.

€300 for a Sky box? You'd get a brand new Sky+ box for less than half that.
