Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

OK firstly, im an IT pro but this has me stumped.
Booted up the Dell server bargain so many people got recently. Its acting as a media centre. Audio provided by audio out lead from sound card to philips DVD/5.1 combo.

Now its dual booting Ubuntu and Server 2003. It has been fine until tonight. I went to watch something i downloaded and i got no sound... odd since it worked on Saturday (last day i used it). So to make sure there is not a problem with my audio system i plugged the same cable into my wifes ipod and that was fine. Problem is obviously on the PC end.
I checked all the connections and they were also fine so i figured its either an OS prob or the sound card is gone. It was using an X-fi card which does not work in linux, i had meant to change for an audigy anyway so i took out the x-fi and put in the audigy. Still no sound in windows? So i booted into Linux, the audigy is seen straight away but still i get no sound! Now i have never had sound in Linux so it could still be just not working in linux and the problem is still a windows problem.

I guess im wondering.. has anyone seen where a PCI sound card, will be picked up fine but not produce any sound in that slot?I have not tried another slot as the card will not fit in the other PCI slot. Hard drive cage in the way. Although i have not checked it out properly so i might be able to get it in.

Such a simple sounding problem but im stumped... anyone have any idea's?

Oh and please read the post before posting suggestions i have already said i did. There is plenty i have done i have not posted too, im off to bed now.
