    road rash aswell - possibly on the wii so you can use the motion sensitivity to hit people with chains

    Honestly, I think it could work well. Many 2D games have successfully been ported over to a 3D engine in the past, like the Command & Conquer, or Warcraft series.

    I think not in some cases. For example, somebody mentioned earlier Syndicate in the GTA4 engine. I don't think that would really work - that game is essentially an RTS (with miniguns). 3D can sometimes just complicate things.

    Shadowrun (Snes version) - Imagine it was a 1st person game with an rpg feel to it and you could get in deathmatches and swerve completely away from what the original game was actually about.......

    It was like that due to the limitations of the time and it was not really a RTS at all it was just an isometric view it was still an action game. But think how the original GTA went to GTA3...

    Now imagine syndicate in a living breathing fully 3D cyberpunk futuristic city with hover cars and the likes. The possibility's are endless!!

    More votes for Syndicate (FLAME THROWER FTW) and the Chaos Engine.
    With ones like Cannon Fodder an such though, you'd need to keep the same perspective and everything, and just make it a bit more shiny. Part of the greatness of it was in it's cheeseyness was it not?

    Golden Axe is being remade already, Linky.

    Psi Ops : The Mindgate Conspiracy, done with the same tech as Force Unleashed is using. I'd even settle for a sequel at this stage...

    A remake of AvP using a next-gen engine would be nice.

    The Monkey Island Series, Sam N' Max and Day Of The Tentacle all remade would be <3

    Bit off Topic, but the Jurassic Park mod using the Crysis game engine is something I dreamed about as a kid....

    :eek: lets hope this doesn't end up being like the "Black Mesa" HL1 remake and taking donkeys to get out the gate.

    Also, if anyones interested. There is a community made remake of X-COM (UFO): Enemy Unknown.

    I've tried it and they've got some things right but some other things terribly wrong. Try it for yourself anyway.

    +1!! i loved that game and still have it. My memory card thing kept getting messed up so i couldn't save all the characters i earned for the arena :(

    Also +1 for Deus Ex, Virtual On & Syndicate Wars remake. Id like a remake of X-com Apocalypse done, unless this new X-com game is going to be like it.

    The pipe-dream:

    Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far (with "scalable gameplay", playable from an overhead strategist perspective per the original, down to a COD-quality FPS at individual level, not forgetting FSW/R6-type squad gameplay in-between, and freely movable between 'levels of gameplay' at any time with the AI taking over on-the-fly as required)
