Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had a play around with the 450D at PMA and it's definitely worth the wait.

Depends, alot of the time your policy will cover reasonable use of the item.

With my insurance company (FBD) cameras, lenses, laptops, or any other valuables that will be brought out of the house regularly had to be covered under an all risks extension to the policy.

Ring your company/broker and make sure.

If you check the services thread in the stickies, I think there is an insurance service listed - please also read the opening post which gives the rules of the thread (which you'll see isn't a q&a type of thread - it just lists things with no particular comment, recommendation, or otherwise.

There is mentioned only one service that deals only with professional photographers. I do find question on the insurer more than relevant.

If you're an amateur, with no requirement for specialised cover you can insure your gear (cameras, lenses and even laptops) under an addon to your home contents policy (or even your parents if you are a student) called an all risks policy. It's an extra cost, but reasonable for the cover provided and in my case the cover is to replace like with like.

I bought the 450D with lens kit from argos 2 weeks ago for €549
    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5591143/Trail/searchtext>450D.htm
Bought a cheap bag from ebay for €12 including delivery and its just as good as one for 60 squids. You would still have change to by a nifty fifty lens or something along them lines

I wouldn't bother at all with the kit lens, it's not that good. Have you thought of going second hand? I recently bought a 400D over on adverts and it was as good as brand new. Seller even had it packed away in teh box in the original packaging. It would leave you more money for a decent lens.

On the main forum you'll find at the top this thread

Stickies are always held on the first page of the forum within boards - they are 'stuck' by a moderator or admin to the top of the forum.

That seems to be simple enough, when you're told all about it:)
    Once again thanks a million
    Best regards
