Because this is where all the Metrosexuals lurk :D

Baudelaire is calling you a metrosexual!

I would suggest Home Interiors. Covers the lot really. I was in that line of business for years and that would probably be the best catchall phrase, imo of course :D.

I often wondered why there wasn't a forum for that...

    No she isn't, silly.

She is saying the Metros lurk. The Brothers actually contribute.

"Hi. My name is Tom Dunne. You may remember me from such threads as '10 reasons to love hairy men' and 'Red Wine, chocolate and anti-depressants - the secret to a happy marriage.' "

Well, yes, thats what many guys would call it. You see, guys are OK at picking the fundamentals, table, chairs, sofa, bed, etc., they don't bother too much about the decorative bits. Most guys understand the 16 basic colours in MSPaint (black, white, dark grey, light grey, that stange dried out mustard colour, etc.)

A friend was living with a couple he knew. Soon after the couple bought the house, herself went on a work placement abroad. Six months later, she returns and the place is much the same as she left it, bar beer stains, burnt area around cooker, etc. She goes shopping and returns a few hours later with cushions and net curtains and ... well that sort of stuff.

Now the lads could appreciate the place looked better, but would never have been able to do this by themselves. This is why I asked here.

Boards.ie has a Home & Garden section, but it doesn't have a slot for furniture and cushions and curtains. What one/two words describes all that furniture and cushions and curtains stuff?

I want to move this thread to that place http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055231313

Household linen is called "manchester" in Aus and NZ. It's one of those things they assume you know.

Is a table* a soft furnishing?

    * "A particular table" as opposed to "a table".
