Seems like my provisional license has gone astray:

    1) I presume that the 'duplicate' they will issue from the garda report will be a provisional without the 6 months test ban on it?

    2) If I were to apply tomorrow is it likely I would have my replacement by the 21st as I've a test on that date?

    1. As far as I know, the replacement licence will have the same "from" and "to" dates as the one you lost. I'm not sure about the "Issued on" date, but it won't alter your ability to sit the test regarding the 6 month rule.

    2. You should be OK to get it by the 21st. Bring your application in to a Motor Tax office personally instead of posting it - there's a good chance it will be ready for collection within a couple of days. Some offices will do a same day turnaround if you ask really nicely (not while you wait, though), but I'm sure some are too busy to do that.

Thanks a lot! I'd hate to have had to postpone it for that. :)
