Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Which of these is the odd one out and why?

    a) Pele

    b) Dunga

    c) Feliz

    d) Envergonado

    Answer has to match MY reason. But all attempts entertained. :)

    Is it Envergonado because it's his real name?

    Nope.

    If it's not the previous guess, is it because Dunga is the only one to ply his trade beyond the Americas?

    Dunga never beat Ireland? (except as manager)

    I dont know which one but my guess is one of them did not captain their side to a world cup victory.

    Feliz cos his name doesn't end in a vowel.

    Feliz cos his name doesn't end in a vowel.

    While we're at it, Envergonado because his name is not too syllables or Pele because he's the only one called Pele.

    Still no correct answer.

    Name not ending in a vowel is too trite to count.

    Must be MY reason. :)

    OK. I'm out of the country for the next few days. So I'll give you the answer but inside a spoiler, so as long as you don't hit the quote button, you won't see it unless you really want to.
    The answer is that Pele is the odd one out.

    He was a footballer.

    The others are all members of the Seven Dwarfs in Portugese.
    Dunga = Dopey
    Feliz = Happy (not to be confused with Felix the famously useless goalkeeper in the 1970 World Cup winning team)
    Envergonado = Bashful.

    If I remember rightly the others were:
    Mestre=Doc
    Atchim=Sneezy
    Dorminocho= Sleepy

    And I just can't remember the portugese for Grumpy.

    Maybe it's just as well I'm leaving the country. ;)
