Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can load balance these lines if you have a router that supports this.

Any router out there you would recommend, or and open source way to accomplish this?

After a bit of looking around ,i found the answer, that its not possible to do cheaply, but load balancing is. pity:(
So you have two independent legal Broadband accounts (can be two DSL two Cable or one of each.)

There are two terms that might be associated with using two independent Internet connections.

    1. Combining Bandwidth.

    2. Load Balancing two connections.

Let assume that you have two 3Mb/sec. connections each capable to download at 300KB/sec.

With Combined Bandwidth you should be able to download one file at 600KB/sec.

With Load Balancing one single file will not exceed download speed of 300KB/sec. However you can download 2 files at 300KB/sec. or 4 files at 150KB/sec. etc.

Unfortunately Combining Bandwidth can not be done without the ISP providing such a specific service.

Computers are Not mind readers. If the two connections are not synchronized at the source your computer would know how to combine it to a coherent page.

Any if and but about it is just Wishful thinking.

The price of such a service (if available) is usually much more expensive than upgrading your connection from the basic service to a faster business or corporate service.

http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html describes how to do routing and load balancing for multiple uplinks/providers in Linux.

I've seen Xincom TwinWAN suggested as a load balancing router though I've not used one myself.

If you don't the fancy linux option, this firewall will do the job, it will even take a 3G card.

I'm sure there are cheaper options available, but I used SonicWALLs in the past and they have worked fine.

I was actually thinking of getting a Netgear PROSAFE™ GIGABIT VPN FIREWALL 25 WITH 4 GIGABIT LAN AND DUAL WAN PORT SWITCH

    what would ye think?

I haven't used one, but the firmware seems full off bugs according to reviews. Amazon, CNET, Newegg all have a lot of terrrible user reviews (and a lot of good reviews too). You should read a few of these before you decide. Personally, I wouldn't go near it.
