I have been looking at various internet shops for items such as scopes, kit etc. Presently looked at cabellas and othersetc. Can anyone suggest the name of a decent one (trust worthy etc) UK or US, in the long run experiences of various people is what I'll go for.

Do You tend to get hit for duty etc bring stuff in from US

    Thanks

Deben.com in the UK are pretty good.
Scopes, cleaning kits lamps and loads of other stuff as well.
Prices are reasonably good and shipping to ireland usually arrives in 3-4days.
As for the Us companies the item may be 8-10 weeks for standard delevery or 3 weeks for priority, but it costs loads and just isnt worth it from the US IMO!

    hi,
i got quite abit of stuff from Cabelas in October, around $500 of clothing and general stuff like that. It's all fantastic stuff and well worth getting IMO. I got it sent Air Mail, which was 40% of the total cost of the order, a bit dear, but when compairing with prices of the stuff here and the uk its still cheaper that i was finding....I made the order on a Thursday i think, and had it by the Wednesday the following week. I will be making another order from them this spring, its just that good!!!

whoah thats good, i got some camo gear from cabelas, very good stuff and very cheap but it took three months to get here, now i only got a pants and jacket, customer service wasnt the best either, they might be after improving, did you see the price comparison of zeiss scopes off cabelas and outfitters here?? its unreal how much cash you save..

US companys I regularly purchase from:
    http://www.brownells.com/
    http://www.sinclairintl.com/
    http://www.dnrsports.com/
D&R can be fairly slow on shipping scopes but check out his ebay prices, can't be beaten.
If I can't find a US exporter for something I get this guy to source it for me:
    http://www.etssincusa.com/index.htm
He will just charge you retail price for the goods + P&P (will cost about $30)
    Cheers,

Can't reccomend this enough: www.basspro.com. IMO far better than cabelas, better range of goods and better prices. Went to the states last november and brought back a haversack full of stuff for half the price you would here.

note: cabelas, basspro etc. will NOT send scopes, barrels, stocks, etc. international. US export laws:mad:

Big bass pro shop lad, ordered Red Head boots off them last november had them within six days. Had the pleasure of been in one of there stores in las vegas last year, it has everything you could ever want, i was like a child in a candy store..:D Spent about 3 hours in the shop had to buy a new suitcase coming back with all the gear I picked up. If u ever get a chance to go to one of there stores i would highly recommened it, they have unbelievable in store bargins, picked up a Buck knife for 20$, got a pair of compact Binos 10 x 42 for less than 50 dollars. Got some stuff off of Cabelas over the years they are pretty good 2, but you could be waiting up 2 three months for some of there stuff if you have it sent by normal post..
