Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Installing a 3G wireless modem on an Asus Eee PC.

I just bought an Asus Eee PC, which runs on Linux. I haven't had much exposure to Linux in the past, but this particular PC is pretty clearly laid out and easy to use. The only thing is, I haven't tried to connect it to the internet yet, and I'm planning to get a contract with 3G.

    My questions are thus:

    1) Has anyone here ever installed a 3G wireless modem on an Asus Eee PC?

    2) How difficult is it?

    3) How do I do it?

Grateful for any information anyone can give - thanks!

There is a built in driver, when you click the network icon (bottom right) you can add an adaptor. I've been using it since getting my little asus, works great.

Thanks again, I'll have to check that out.

Honestly, it's the perfect computer for me. Small, easy to move, easy to use, has lots of interesting stuff to mess about with and allows a reasonable amount of browsing. I'm not a gamer, so I don't require a huge amount of processing power. Ticks all the boxes and is a fraction of the price of a laptop. What's not to love? :p
