Also numerous other news articles about it. White house wont be pleased at all lol.

This if it takes off could really set the dollar on another plunge. Might take time to take effect but if too many countries unload there dollars onto the market since they don't need for oil the greenback is in even more trouble.

They have the backing of themselves(obviously),Venezuela, china and Russia.

It is reckoned that Georges recent visit to the middle east was to discuss the Bourse with various countries there.

I cannot open that link for some reason here at work. Could you please provide another link or copy & paste the text.

Im very interested in the IOB and have followed its developments for the past few years. I firmly believe that its one of the MAIN reasons why Iran is in the cross-hairs of the Americans.
I am a big supporter of the IOB and hope it succeeds. Less dollar, more euro!

If this means that Europe will see some money coming our way, then I am all for it.

Interesting read. It seems "someone" has cut the cables that provide internet to Iran and the Middle east just before the IOB gets going!

A very very good read here for anyone wanting to learn about the history of u.s dollar-oil relationship and the iranian oil bourse. Also explains the consequences on the world economy.

Yeah, I read that before but I just read it again there. Excellent article. And the most shocking this of all is that 90% + of the general public dont know any of this, why? Because the media doesnt want to tell them, why? Because its all a giant conspiricy.

Has anyone seen any more news about this. I'm stuck in work and don't have full internet access but i can't see anything to say it was setup or not.

One site did say that the internet loss has delayed it by 1 week until the 19th but didn't state there source.

If anyone can find anything please post it here, its really something im interested in.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Highly recommend those five minutes of video, puts into funny perspective the ridiculousness of pegging the value of a currency to black sludge.

oops can't really get those youtube tags to work proper...

Yeah if anyone hasn't seen the whole of this video it's well worth checking out.

The link above to online journal has another article by the same writer - different subject - outlining a second factor putting pressure on the US economic system at the moment.

    http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_2936.shtml

"Surprisingly, there's an even bigger threat to the financial system than these staggering losses at the banks. A default by one of the big bond insurers could trigger a meltdown in the credit-default swaps market, which could lead to the implosion of trillions of dollars in derivatives bets. The inability of the under-capitalized monolines (bond insurers) to “make good” on their coverage is likely to set the first domino in motion by increasing the number of downgrades on bond issues and intensifying the credit-paralysis which already is spreading throughout the system."

What kindof impact could the combination of these two developments have on the global power structure? What happens if all that value just disappears from the dollar system? Seriously, is it going to affect the price of milk and eggs?

Oil money - surely this isn't why the US has named Iran as its next probable target?? ;)

Well they finally did it, the Iranian's have opened there own oil bourse.

From what i read they are opening more phases which will eventually involve crude oil sales and trading in Euro.

Really can't wait to see how this all plays out now.

Great news, but how long will it last?!
The neo-cons already have their plans for bombing and invasion. Its just a matter now if John McCain gets into power and listens to these evil people. My guess is that he will.

Does anyone know how this bourse has been doing - any idea how the values of the trades there compare in proportion to the whole oil market?

Any good websites that are tracking developments?
