Ok, lets forget about the poor performances over the past 3 weeks, we have dropped 8 points, now we cant win the league. we have talked enough on here, now lets do the talking on the pitch and show that we still are a good team, this game allows us the chance to do that. These are one of the best teams in the league and can still win it. we played them off the park for 45 minutes before and conceded 2 late goals to lose 4-3. so we owe them one. we also owe ourselves a good performance, as we have been poor so far since the Christmas break. what we need lads, is 11 players to get stuck in and not be found wanting when a tackle needs to be made. we can win this game, im confident of that.

i hope to play and while still not fully recovered, i will give it a go and see how i get on. i have only played 15 minutes in the past 3 weeks so im dying for a game.

So there is (looked at the old fixture list stickied here). And it's out in columbas, gah can't cycle there n back just yet.

Right-e-o i'll be there to cheer us on in 2 weeks!

    Good luck tonight lads

ok, we lost, but massive improvement on the last 3 weeks and wit a bit of luck we could have scrapped something. im pretty confident that had we played like this over the past 3 weeks, we would have picked up at least 5 or 6 points and not just 1. these are a good team and they can still win the league,so no shame in loosing. at least we had a bit more fire and organisation tonight, that was lacking. we will win next week, mark my words.

still areas to be improved on and 2 or 3 players are not playing as well as they can. at least we scored after 2 failures last 2 week.

kudos to the defence tonight, i though karl and geoff looked especially confident, with karl having his best game of the season. their keeper was also very solid throughout. defence has come in for critism off certain members lately, but i thought we were solid there tonight. the first goal was a great finish in off the post from a good distance out. ok, the second one should have been cleared and was a sucker punch considering we should have scored about 20 seconds earlier, corner cleared, not defended and they scored on the counter attack.

what should have happened here was once that player got free on the sideline, he should have been taken out of it. sometimes we are too nice a team and in cases like that, it would have been worth the yellow card. but, as i said, overall, big improvement on last 3 weeks.

Yeh much improved performance tonight. Defence were very solid I thought in the 2nd half especially. Felt the lads there were a bit more receptive to myself talking than last few weeks. Geoff had a superb game and Karl made some great stops especially that one in the first half just before thei first goal. Dan again gave everything in midfield. Shay and Dave were very good when they came on. Everyone battled hard which was the main thing.

Apologies for having to come off after a few minutes in the first half. My calves were really tight and I didn't stretch properly before hand so I'll hold up my hand for that one. After a bit of a stretch they were grand. Which leads me to Ed. Ed, you're not letting the team down by saying you're injured. Playing when you're injured does more harm. That's why I came off after ten because sooner or later I would've made a mistake that would have been costly. The sooner you're fit and back playing the better but playing ten mins here and there will only set you back

Good spirit tonight lads. They were a solid team and very strong defensively at centre-half and midfield, but we gave them a good battle and wouldn't have been flattered by the draw we looked like taking if the clock had another 5 mintues on it.

Their first goal was a quality strike, though the second was given up far too easily and I totally agree a solid foot should've gone in over at the byline and a card taken if necessary, that's more pragmatic than dirty.

We didn't actually create all that many chances but had plenty more linkup play than last week and some good balls were being put into the box, though we need to whip it in more than float it in. Dave had a good strike well saved and I had a few snapshots that I didn't catch, but when you're limited to strikes from distance you can't expect to win games.

They were physical in exactly the way we need to be and improved on tonight - 100% committed for every ball with positive aggression but not dirty. I've always said give the ball to the strikers with their back to goal and you're giving them a chance to create something if they manage to turn and worst case they'll lay it off to bring midfield runners into the game or defender gets a touch to knock it back our way. Tonight we were well marked so it was more about making the right layoffs but I thought that worked well as we kept it and midfield then had go forward ball and they did quite well with it. Thought Art played well and was picking the right ball to go for, against other defences that would've made some clearcut chances.

But more than anything it was heartening to see that lads cared about it and were prepared to dig in and give everything they had. We weren't far of clicking in the way we did in mid-season so fair play to all and lets complete the turnaround with a good win next week.

The best thing I can say about that game lads was that I enjoyed playing it.
I can't add much more than that.
