Well, that N96 announcement has out the nail in the coffin for me as to whether get the N95 8Gb. Without a doubt getting this phone. iPhone, take that and shove it up your poorly placed headphone input....Well, the iPhone is still ok but not amazing when compared to this.

the n96 only has dual led flashes for its 5mp camera?? surely the n82's xenon flash is still superior to this?

the only other things that catch my eye are the 16gb flash memory, and the mobile dvb mobile tv

anyone know if this will be free to just tune in when u like or will it require a data plan?? i know 02 trialed it in dublin not so long ago sucessfully

q3 2008 is the release date, but the operators wont have it then, ud need to buy it from expansys, or ebay or something while the operators "test" the handsets

I don't know how this one got by me. I work for SE in Munich and we usually see the prototypes floating around.

I think I'll have to make some friends in marketing before this comes out ;)

*edit - just spoke to the powers that be and I'm going to be in the pre-launch test group !!! F*cking Great ;)

Does anyone know if they're planning on bringing out 16Gb cards anytime soon. I know there's 8Gb one's out but the extra would really nail this as an iPhone destroyer in my book.

Looks amazing though, both literally and specs wise

Asked in work to see if we'd be getting one of these but alas looks like a no :(

Only phone I'd consider forking over 500e odd for.

It will be running on Microsoft OS. Microsoft said it would be released in 2nd half of 08.

If Blackberry Connect and Audiobook (audible.co.uk) work on this then I'm getting one. Presume this will be based on Windows Mobile (7?)

Could I get a job in SE Munich? Would be cool to test SE prototypes

Gotta hand it to HTC for coming up with yet another cool device ;)
By all accounts they pretty much built it with a bit of SE finishing touches thrown in.

Kinda weird that SE chose WM6 as the OS though.

Lovely looking device, nice and light (ish) for a slider.
Wonder if A-GPS here necessarily means data charges for voice navigation.
    Otherwise nice specs.

I'm glad they chose windows mobile, the lack of it on S.E. devices was putting me off buying them.

Anyone have an idea about this? Does aGPS cost to use?

My understanding is GPS is GPS and that aGPS is a mobile specific expansion of this with certain features (like the network sending you extra information about satellites and providing mobile cell triangulation services). I dont believe it requires a data connection though unless you want to use some these extra features. Standard GPS should still work as normal with the right software.

Just found the Wiki on it...think I'm at least partially correct

Some more crazily-specced devices from Gigabyte at that Congress here:
    http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/

The Gigabyte G-smart MS808 will have HSDPA, DVB-H/DVB-T and GPS.
These G-smart devices will have a modularised setup apparently where you can add as many features to the device as you want apparently..
