Any owners experiance the same issues I am having?

As I mentioned when posting my pics the 249 has some issues
out of the box. The most important is the barrel issue
and less important it the Box mag. I have not had time yet
    to examine properly.

    I have pics here:
    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055234908

When putting on the (outer) barrel just slotting it in does not work.
Pressing thee catch for the barrel release in all the way then relaseing
when barrel is in results the the barrel saying put until......
you tip it give it a small tug, point it downwards and gravity will cause
it to pop out I dread to think what would happen if running about the place
    and that happened.

The Box mag seems to have problems feeding from the box to the
    coil/spring like tubing.

Check out this review has plenty for tips for improving the box mag
My barrel release level is rock solid. I can hold it by the barrel and it wont budge so i cant help there

Weird. Do you just slot your barrel in and something clicks to lock it ?
what I have been doing is pushing in the release switch all the way
and then inserting barrel and afterwards releasing the switch.

Now that I have had it a few hours now its growing on me!
Blasted bi-pod I will have to be careful with so so delicate.
Most of the other stuff looks more robust.

Wondering if someone with the Para version can confirm that the Para comes
with a top rail to mount a Optics ?? I thought it was a feature common to all
3 versions but I am guessing its not now that I see the MKII does not have this feature.

    No worries,

I may try and see if there is any way I can rotate the barrel a bit
where I can see the slight visable wear. That way I may get a better
    lock.

mines the same, i hold the release down, push the barrel all the way in, and then push the release forward until i feel it lock into the place.

I then (very carefully) lift the whole thing up by the barrel to make sure it engaged properly and im happy enough it wont just pop off. i still dont put any pressure on the barrel when carrying it and i dont use the carry handle either just in case

That black PVC bondage tape I bought all those years ago
will finally have a use!! to tape the barrel to the handgrip!! :D

Sounds like you've slightly bent back the part of the quick release lever that engages with the barrel, I found something similar with mine when I first tried to fit the barrel back on, you need to pull the barrel quick release lever forward until it bends the part that locks the barrel back forward a bit, you'll need to apply some force. Now when you're putting the barrel back on make sure the lever is pressed back but not back so far or with so much force that it bends the part that engages the barrel (that's how it got bent on mine in the first place) I usually take the heat shield off and push the bottom of the barrel while I'm doing this, it'll lock in place and you can then pick it up by the barrel, I can even shake mine by the barrel and it doesn't come off.

I've not had any problems at all with my box mag, it feeds every time, I'm considering putting in some foam all the same to protect the electronics though, they are a little exposed.

I agree about the bi-pod, that part is aluminium and grooves develop in it over time, so you'll get a sort of rocking effect when you use it, I'm trying to source some steel parts to replace that piece, I'll let you know how I get on.
