Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Try entering the filename (or the path and name of an image) with a different case (e.g. filename.htm to FileName.htm)

If it works as before - Windows
If it doesn't work - Linux

    or

    Use nmap - http://nmap.org/osdetect/

You could always try getting a 404 by entering some random page name that doesn't exist... if there was no custom 404 page set for that site, then often you'll get extra info like whether the server is IIS or Apache.

Thats not foolproof, but it's almost foolproof, but it will give you a good indicator...

The Netcraft test is probably one of the saner solutions :)

Port scanning people isn't polite !
